Material Handler

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplies raw materials (boxes, cartons, paper, etc.) to production machines.
Determines raw material needed by machine.
Removes finished products to shipping.
Removes waste from production areas; ensures all the waste is segregated properly, weighed, recorded and placed in the proper waste area.

ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT OR POSITION-SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complies with safety rules and regulations; wear steel toed shoes or coverings, hearing protection, safety glasses, shields and gloves as needed, is not involved in horseplay, is cautious when near equipment and machines, maintain housekeeping in work area.

Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:

Required Certification (s): Must be able to become certified to operate material handling equipment.


Experience:

Preferred: One year or more previous material handling in a manufacturing environment.

Special Skills Required:

Basic written and verbal communications skills.
Must work at a rapid pace


REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk. The employee frequently is required to reach and bend and stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

Manufacturing environment. 1. Install modular rail systems to residential staircases (indoor, outdoor)
2. Install and test transformer wiring and power supply.
3. Install carriage and seat to rail systems and complete diagnostic checks.
4. Troubleshoot and service any/all components of carriage/seat/rail system.
5. Track and maintain bar code based inventory control system for all vehicle inventory
6. Complete work reports for each field visit and liaise with installation and tech support department
for adequate reconciliation of payments, parts and service.
7. Provide exemplary customer service to standards.
8. Perform annual service visits and completes preventive maintenance and testing on all systems.
9. Complete all initial and recurrent training modules to maintain authorized training
standards.
