PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Sets up, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and operates hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical systems and equipment in a team environment to conduct laboratory and field tests of agricultural implements and component assemblies and parts to obtain engineering data for product development and improvement. TYPES OF MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT USED OR OPERATED: Various hand and power tools, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic, instrumentation, and test equipment and vehicles, precision measuring tools, computers, dynamometers, agricultural equipment and components, and engines. JOB DETAILS:

*Traveling for field testing and reporting approximately 40 percent of the year.

*Working in a self-directed team environment where work is not closely directed or supervised.

*Effectively working with engineers and customers in planning, developing, implementing, and analyzing the results of laboratory and field test processes.

*Performing all work required for product development, testing and evaluation at the John Deere Global Crop Harvesting Product Development Centerand other locations inNorth Americaand worldwide.

*Setting up and conducting laboratory tests on experimental equipment and components using electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical instrumentation to determine performance, power, efficiency, environmental impact, vibration, fatigue, durability, and operational characteristics.

*Developing, building, calibrating, installing, maintaining, and operating electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical instrumentation and test equipment in the experimental test laboratory and instrumentation vehicles.

*Conducting tests to obtain engineering data for evaluation and design of agricultural equipment and components.

*Assembling, disassembling, diagnosing problems, overhauling, repairing, adjusting, and testing experimental agricultural equipment and components, performing major mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work to determine the accuracy of specifications, part dimensions, adjustments, functional performance, stability, durability, and field service feasibility characteristics.

Candidate should have 5 - 10+ years experience in piping design with refinery experience. Candidate must be a self starter knowledgeable of the complexities of industrial design. He or she must be an experienced, functioning part of a project design team consisting of other engineers and designers as well as engineering design staff from other disciplines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Generates design and detail drawings and manages and maintains the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings). • Create cad drawings from engineering sketches and scrubbing drawings from design mark up. • Gathers information, makes studies, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal • Selects, recommends, and prepares preliminary designs. • Works with Mechanical and Process Engineers to determine piping specifications and specialty items. • Provides a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations. • Participates in inter-discipline checks. • Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information. • Perform initial field survey to determine optimum equipment and piping layout, tie-ins to existing facilities and facility operations and safety criteria. • Be familiar with piping design standards and procedures. • Provide piping design of complex facilities. In this position, you will provide a variety of functions and services to the client’s Non-Residential Lighting Program Manager, the client’s Commercial Sector Lead, other client staff, and a variety of external stakeholders, in the day to day operation of commercial sector programs with an emphasis on lighting initiatives. Support Specialist job responsibilities include: • Identify, design, develop and implement new non-residential lighting program offers. These efforts will initially focus on new innovative program initiatives that incorporate both “Direct Install” and “Upstream” program delivery approaches. This work will include coordination with other communication and marketing resources, orchestration of both internal and external stakeholder engagement activities, and the provision of discreet project management and monitoring. • Serve as the Programs Department’s representative to work with internal stakeholders to development and implementation of a web-based relational database application, based on the current Non-Residential Lighting Calculator, intended to ultimately serve as the successor to the current lighting calculation spreadsheet. This will include performing market research, coordinating the gathering of user input, writing technical reports and reviewing customer facing communications. • Identify approaches to increase uptake of the wholesale offers by public utility customers, increase general awareness and education across stakeholders through such means as developing training videos and webinars. Be proficient in the use of the client’s lighting calculation tool and provide both in-person and in-field user help to customer utilities located across the region. • Enhance and increase direct lighting industry engagement in concert with the existing Northwest Lighting Trade Ally Network, to further develop the client’s relationships with key trade allies and industry partners. • Engage directly with the client’s Emerging Technology research team efforts. Analyze the overall lighting industry and utility efficiency program activities and performance in order to inform recommendations for further industry research and potential integration with other non-residential program offers. • Participate, track, and report on regional and national Energy Efficient lighting-related groups in order to keep the client informed and actively engaged within the lighting and utility industries. These organizations include, but are not limited to; Consortium for an Energy Efficient Economy (CEE), Washington State University Energy Extension (WSU), E3T, & Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), West Coast Utility Lighting Team (WCULT). • Create ad hoc reports pertaining to a variety of utilities, projects, and initiatives within the non-residential lighting practice including tracking program performance metrics, kWh savings acquisition levels, payments to utilities, internal program expenses and budgets. • It is estimated up to 15% of this positions time will be in the field directly helping customers QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of some advanced studies beyond high school is required • Associates degree in business administration, management, accounting, computer science or a related field is highly desirable. Adecco Engineering & Technical is looking to hire a Mechanical Product Test and Evaluation Engineer with Agricultural or Heavy Machinery / Construction equipment experience on a CONTRACT basis four a client based out of Moline, IL! In this position the person will be assigned to complete a series of lab and field tests. The work includes ensuring the lab tests have clearly defined acceptance criteria, clearly defined procedures, and then working with our wage technician workforce to ensure the activities are carried out per the procedure and all the appropriate data is gathered from the activity and properly analyzed. These will be tests that the contract engineer did not conduct, but will need to help the engineer that did conduct the test in finishing up the final reports.
