Position Summary This position is extremely hands-on, and performs routine daily work assignments associated with program implementation, training, ultrasonic testing product testing, ultrasonic test equipment maintenance, equipment research and development testing, and assists with equipment manufacturing. The individual must maintain an active ASNT III UT certification or at least 5 years Level II UT experience with demonstrated project leadership abilities. This position may require periods of physical demand and the employee must be willing to work with and around hazardous materials.

Principal Duties The position’s primary responsibilities include: Perform routine daily work assignments associated with program implementation. Conduct training classes for customers and in-house personnel, as required. Complete ultrasonic testing of manufactured systems prior to shipment. Perform maintenance of in-house and customer owned ultrasonic testing systems, as needed. Assist with research and development testing of ultrasonic test systems. Assists with UT systems and equipment manufacturing, as needed. Executes daily work assignments in accordance with established priorities and orders and assures own work is accurate and correct and meets regulatory and existing procedure requirements and management’s expectations. Conducts equipment troubleshooting and minor maintenance and routine inspection of operating equipment to fix or determine the need for additional equipment repairs or replacement, as needed. Maintains work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5-S concepts. Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends, as necessary. Skills and Qualifications Aptitude to operate, troubleshoot and maintain electro-mechanical ultrasonic test systems Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products such as Outlook, Excel, Work, Power Point and Access. Any additional software applications would be a plus (SolidWorks, Matlab, Teamviewer, etc.) Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Certified ASNT SNT-TC-1a Level II or ASNT Level III UT. Previous experience ( >2 years) and knowledge and experience working in industrial or manufacturing operations preferred. Must be able to read policies and procedures, follow, perform and author those work operations, as applicable. Complete company administered classroom instruction and satisfactory pass written and practical demonstration exams within 6 months of hire, as necessary. Education Requirements B.S. in a technical field preferred. Requires a minimum of a 2 year technical degree.

Maintaining all Quote Order Status reports, revising the report accordingly, keeping it up to date and emailing the report to appropriate parties on a weekly basis.

Makes jigs for spot welding aids such as templates, clamping fixtures, etc. Does troubleshooting of spot welding problems. Efficiently brazes copper-to-copper or dissimilar metals. From drawings, procedures, or mock-ups, can bend pipe, tube, or conduit. Is capable of setting up a welder to perform proper welds. Efficiently assembles and installs pipe, tube, or conduit on rail cars from drawings. Efficiently cuts, deburrs, and threads pipe, tube, or conduit. Operates spot welding machine efficiently with minimal supervision. Job Specifications: Must have at minimum three (3) years work experience in a mechanical field. Must know how to use safely and correctly hand and power tools. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to interpret drawings/blueprints. Must be proficient in English measurement system and be able to learn the Metric measurement system within a specified period of time. Function Test Technician Description: Performs all aspects of work on rail cars being processed through Facility and Commissioning Sites. This includes all electrical and mechanical trouble-shooting, repairs, modifications and any other duties requested by their supervisor. The position entails working on rail cars in the final assembly process. The technician will use standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc.) along with his or her ability to perform basic trouble-shooting utilizing multi-meters and PC based test equipment. Responsibilities:

--Develop and monitor all QC process reports
--Employ statistical process controls and techniques to drive continuous improvement.
--Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, and test documentation to ensure that applicable system and contract quality requirements are met.

Requirements:
