Responsible for establishing and maintaining the quality processes associated with product complaint handling, procedures and controls to ensure that all complaints are processed in accordance with established company procedures and WWQA regulations and standards. Coordinate strategic and technical resources to meet expectations and insure the successful implementation of Brilliant Distinctions program changes. A temporary Utilization Review RN job in Clearwater, FL is available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technical. This is a three month assignment. The Care Coordinator, UM, RN is a registered nurse who provides utilization review by processing requests for services, applying nationally recognized UM guidelines (InterQual), and making approval decisions on the requests in a timely manner consistent with established SLAs. The care coordinator, UM, RN, also makes decisions on whether to refer a request for secondary review in cases where primary approval cannot be given. This position evaluates and manages utilization of services for our membership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Approves requests for medical services (inpatient, pre-certification and concurrent, and outpatient) based on available information, utilizing nationally accepted guidelines for utilization management (InterQual) as well as standard of care information and clinical judgment as appropriate

*Requests clinical information when needed and refers the request to secondary medical review with the appropriate information, when approval for the request cannot be given by the nurse

*Identifies need for referral of the member to case management and/or disease management services based on established referral criteria or individual care need identified during interaction with members or providers

*Follows established policy and procedures for timely medical necessity review, escalation, Peer Review and appeals meeting all state, URAC and applicable regulatory guidelines

*Serves as a facilitator to providers for resolution of provider concerns, complaints and grievances.

*Maintains and ensures the confidentiality of all information collected during the review process

*Participates in medical necessity, URAC, clinical and quality training programs as requested

*Communicates with providers and members as needed

*Maintains appropriate level of experience and/or education to perform job responsibilities

*Able to provide patients and providers with information regarding available case management, disease management or disease education programs.

*Analyzes utilization data for department to understand trends and improvement or process opportunities.

*Maintain a positive professional and respectful attitude with peers and clients

*To determine and monitor appropriate discharge plans for all approved services
