Primary role will be providing Rockwell Controllogix PLC programming support for some new equipment builds and restarting equipment after installation in China.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Delivering a successful product to market will require project managers with experience leading technical projects in the auto glazing field. Initial projects will be in the areas of glass bending, decoration and lamination. This individual should also have experience transferring process technology to manufacturing and the qualification of new auto glazing products.

Technical project managers will work closely with the internal technical team, product engineering, reliability, and operations teams to develop process capabilities for new glazing products and then transfer these capabilities to internal and external manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for leading process development in the lamination and decoration areas. This position will also be responsible for providing technical support during the auto glazing product qualification process.

The individual should also provide guidance to the product and process development teams based on customer input and their experience in the auto glazing market. The project manager must also be able to apply a flexible approach which is consistent with the risk profiles associated with early to mid-staged innovation projects.

Day to Day Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to manage a cross functional team and will be experienced in a structured product and process development and be able to utilize risk management tools, to ensure on-time delivery.

The project manager will lead a technical team to develop processes, transfer technologies to manufacturing and qualify new process and product technologies. Initial projects will be in the areas of glass lamination and decoration. This will include evaluating the suitability and shortcomings of commercial technologies for producing lightweight laminates. Where shortcomings exist, work with equipment suppliers or the internal equipment development organization, to develop upgrades so these systems are compatible with thin glass lamination.

Interface with early-stage manufacturing teams such that prototype process / product delivery is consistent with long-term scalability. They will coordinate with the product engineering function to ensure that process, product and reliability testing is appropriate to new product introduction.

Assess strengths and weaknesses of materials and process alternatives Assist in the determination of process specifications and measurement methods Assist in the determination of the appropriate measurements methods Support efforts to determine the root cause of product failures Support activities for the measurement, analysis and implementation of process alternatives

Travel Requirements Travel is expected to be approx. 25%. This would be a combination of domestic and international travel. International travel would is most commonly to Europe. Candidates should be informed the travel will average one week per month to Europe locations.
